Flights to
Cyprus
You can get one of the many flights to
Cyprus from most airports in the UK and Ireland. There
are a mixture of scheduled and holiday charter flights to
Cyprus from different holiday companies and airlines operating
into both Larnaca airport and Paphos airport. There are also
flights into Ercan airport in the Turkish side however they are
not as common.
The airport you pick will depend on the part of Cyprus you
wish to visit unless you want a long transfer time from the
airport. Another obvious consideration is the cost of the
flight, which can vary depending on a few factors. If you
wanted to stay in Ayia Napa one of the more popular resorts you
would want a flight to Larnaca where the distance to the resort
is around forty one kilometres. If you were to get a flight to
Paphos and travel to Ayia Napa then you would have to travel
approximately an extra one hundred and thirty kilometres to get
there. So unless there is a massive price difference it is
better to check which one of the flights to Cyprus is more
suitable for you.
Depending on what type of flight is available the best time
to book your flight to Cyprus is usually as early as possible
for the scheduled airlines unless they have a special offer
available. Charter flights can be booked last minute however
you are then subject to market forces. If you are travelling in
the peak summer months to Cyprus during the school holiday
period, you will less likely to find a late deal and get a
cheaper flight. If you get a flight to Cyprus at the start of
June when there is no school holidays you may have a better
chance of getting a cheap flight to Cyprus provided that there
is still plenty of availability left.
There are direct flights to Cyprus from most UK airports
however it is possible to fly via other European airports such
as Frankfurt of Amsterdam and Athens. For some dates this can
work out cheaper than some of the other flights available. Some
of the holiday companies charge a lot for flights to Cyprus on
certain dates as they wish to keep the seats to sell with
accommodation as part of a package holiday to Cyprus rather
than just a Cyprus flight.
