Climate: Typical Mediterranean climate with warm summer weather with almost no rainfall from around mid May until mid October. Mild winters except in the higher mountain areas where snow is common. Most rain falls during the winter months from December until February. The hottest month is usually August. Dust storms in some areas are frequent throughout the year.
Main Airports: Three, Larnaca Airport (LCA),  Paphos Airport (PFO) and Ercan Airport (ECN) in the Turkish north. Nicosia airport has been closed since 1974.

Car Hire: In the south of Cyprus you drive on the left side of the road. Check before crossing the border into a different part of Cyprus if you are in a hired car if you are allowed to do so.
